Glassio is the dream-pop and indie-electronic project of Irish-Iranian songwriter-producer Sam R. Known for pairing melodic sweetness with brooding, dance-floor melancholia, his music sits at the intersection of New Wave, chamber-pop, and introspective electronica. Since debuting in New York, Glassio has become a quietly influential voice in indie electronic music, amassing over 25 million streams, collaborating with artists like Madge, French Horn Rebellion and Beauty Queen, and touring internationally with acts including Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Nada Surf, and Electric Youth.

Born in the Middle East and raised between Sharjah and California, Sam’s musical compass was shaped early by Pet Sounds, Paul Simon, and Bruce Springsteen — touchpoints that continue to surface beneath Glassio’s shimmering production. After moving to New York in 2011, he played in several bands (including a psych-folk project with Maggie Rogers) before launching Glassio with collaborator Charles Pinel. The project’s breakout single “Try Much Harder” landed on Spotify’s Global Viral Charts, paving the way for a series of releases that blended narrative depth with electronic experimentation.

Glassio’s first two full-length albums, For The Very Last Time (2020) and See You Shine (2022), marked the beginning of the project as a fully realized solo endeavor. Both records expanded his musical world — earning praise from Bandcamp, Rolling Stone México, SPIN, and securing placements across HBO, Netflix, and Amazon Studios — while establishing Glassio’s signature “melancholy-disco” aesthetic.

Glassio enters a new chapter with his forthcoming third album, The Imposter, out in February 2026. It's a record rooted in duality, both thematically and sonically, that sheds a light on crossover points between Electronic-Folk, Indie-Dance, and Dream-Pop, exploring themes of identity, doubt, and creative rebirth. While keeping the melodic pulse and emotional clarity that define Glassio’s work, The Imposter leans into a more intimate and reflective register — a portrait of an artist shedding old roles and returning to his truest voice.
Glassio’s new material continues to expand his sonic universe while remaining deeply personal — music for late nights, long walks, and anyone navigating the in-between.
